LE GUIDE HACHETTE DES VINS 2024

“For over 30 years, the publication of the Hachette Wine Guide has been a must for wine lovers, and the guide has established itself as the benchmark wine-buying guide. Every year, the Guide Hachette des Vins takes you on a tour of France’s best wines and wineries.

Our selected wines are as follows :

Appellation : Châteauneuf-du-Pape

Vintage : 2021

Cuvée : La Reine des bois

Colour and type : Red, still

Assessment : 1 star

Comment : “A wide range of grape varieties make up this deep, well-aged Châteauneuf, which impresses with its concentrated colour and dense tears. A still quiet but fine nose, with subtle fragrances of blueberry, juniper and menthol, opens onto a fresh, long and powerful palate, anchored by fine, fat tannins and underlined by restrained acidity, which allows time to see things through. A wine for laying down”.

Appellation : Châteauneuf-du-Pape

Vintage : 2021

Cuvée : La Dame voyageuse

Colour and type : Red, still

Assessment : 1 star

Comment : “On the nose, this cuvée evokes cloves and thyme. Full-bodied and fleshy on the palate, it reveals luscious burlat cherry fruit, wrapped in firm, serene tannins that stretch out on the finish and promise great sensations after a few years in the cellar. »

Appellation : Tavel

Vintage : 2022

Cuvée : La Reine des bois

Colour and type : Rosé, still

Assessment : 1 star

Comment : “A lovely light ruby colour with purple tints. Delicious morello cherry and citrus fruit aromas are enhanced by spicy notes (cardamom). Unctuous, round and dynamic, fresh without being lively, the palate is full of finesse. Brilliant and balanced, this Tavel is a versatile wine, from aperitif to table.

Appellation : Côtes-du-Rhône

Vintage: 2022

Cuvée : Domaine de la Mordorée

Colour and type : Red, still

Assessment: 1 star

Comment : “Manual harvesting and sorting were used to produce this characterful red, which is still a little closed, revealing fleeting notes of black fruit sprinkled with spices (cumin, cloves). These aromas rise in intensity on the rich, round, velvety palate, underpinned by firm tannins that call out for ageing, and carry through to a long finish. Elegance and vigour in the same bottle: that sums up the style of this estate.
